DAY 23: Corsets

Posted on 1

I can’t breathe,’
Marcella tells me
every time I call,

But how will you?’
I reply

When you’ve tied your
vocal chords with the
opinions of other people,

Too afraid to offend,
Too afraid to speak your mind,

How will you?
When your waist is
buried in corsets,

Trying to look sexy for guys
who never stay
to know your second name,

So what
if they get offended,
So what
if your tummy isn’t flat,
So what
if they don’t like you for being you

At least you’ll be breathing,
And that’s a basic need,

Love & Blessings
